Our curriculum is designed so that the children will make strong progress in Art and Design.
Through a carefully designed sequence of lessons and units, pupils will build their skills in drawing, painting, printing, textiles, and sculpture. We believe that high-quality art education nurtures creativity, independence, critical thinking, and self-reflection, inspiring children to develop innovative ideas. They will also explore a variety of artistic works created by different artists and designers across history.
Understanding of the visual elements of art and design (line, tone, texture, colour, pattern, shape, sculpture) will be developed through an accessible and engaging curriculum. Children will have the opportunity to experiment and develop skills with a variety of media such as paint products, pencils, charcoal, textiles and clay. Additionally, we focus on building our children’s fluency of using Art and Design specific vocabulary through oracy and teacher questioning.
