In January, Year 6 started their vermicomposting science investigation. The Year 6 children were particularly excited about setting up two wormeries in different test environments to explore the impact of temperature on compost production. The children have been accurately measuring waste material to feed the worms, to ensure a fair test. Now, the children are actively monitoring the temperature in the two test locations.
While a few worms did try to escape in the first week, a number of calls to the wormery supplier soon had them settled in their new home.
