Welcome to Reception Foxes and Squirrels

Welcome back!

We are delighted to welcome you back to school, from Tuesday 9th March. We have missed seeing all the children at school and want to say a big thank you from the whole Reception team to all the children and families.  You have all shown resilience and perseverance during your time at home, and the children at school made different friendships and had a very different school experience.  We felt so supported by you all, and we want to say thank you to you all through this uncertain time. Whilst we loved recording stories for you, catching up by telephone and video calls, there is no substitute for seeing all your lovely children every day.

As we settle back into our typical school routine, please continue to be open with us if you need extra support. We are here for you!

Dear Reception Families,

Welcome to the Fox and Squirrel classes at Churchend Primary School.  We are looking forward to the year ahead, getting to know both yourselves and your lovely children who have already wowed us with their calm and kind approach to starting school.

On this website page, we will add useful documents throughout the year and these will help you support your child on their learning journey.

As always, please catch us at pick or drop off you have any questions or concerns.

Take Care

The Reception Team.

Term 5 in Reception

This term in our topic 'Be Green', the children have been learning about Georgia O'Keefe.  She was an artist who loved nature and wanted to make sure she shared this beauty with others.  To ensure people did not miss it, she painted BIG!  The children have learnt how, has a girl, Georgia was not meant to be an artist in the time when she grew up but that Georgia rightly stood up to this unfair idea and lived her life doing what she loved and had a great talent for.

Also the children began learning how they could care for this beautiful world by looking after our trees like Greta Thunberg and using alternatives to or re-using plastic to say it from hurting the sea animals.   They created the turtle in this display by re-using milk bottle lids.  As you can see, your children have created some amazing art which they and we are very proud of.

Your budding artists have been busy at work!
