Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Our academy is a happy and caring place that children want to attend and where they can feel secure. As educators, we create an environment in which children can experience the joy of learning and are valued as important members of the school, within a diverse community that celebrates their similarities and differences.

We aim to offer an inclusive experience at Churchend Primary Academy and it is our privilege and responsibility to accept each child into our community. Beginning from their first day and throughout their time with us, we have high expectations of all children in order to encourage them to develop their potential to the full.

We believe that every pupil in the academy should be accorded the respect and dignity that is the right of every individual. In all our relationships, we are fair, understanding and compassionate.

We believe that education is a shared responsibility of parents and carers, staff and the community. All pupils are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, which is adapted where necessary to meet the individual needs of each child. Through education, all pupils will develop a sense of self-respect and the capacity to live as independent, self-motivated individuals with the ability to function as contributing members of the school community and wider society.
