I would like to wish everybody a very warm welcome to our new academic year. I trust you had a good summer and managed some "down time". Thank you for sending your children back well prepared, looking smart in their uniforms and neatly presented hair.
We were very proud of the progress of all children last year and we will continue to set expectations high in 2019/2020 in all that we do. There will be a focus on attendance and particularly in reducing persistent absence. Well researched evidence shows that children who miss days off school fall behind in their learning.
We have a strong values led ethos which helps us shape what is expected as citizens of our community and country. We endeavour to prepare the children well for life and offer them experiences which go beyond the classroom to create well-rounded members of society. There will be a big emphasis on resilience, responsibility, respect, tolerance, rule of law, democracy and leadership. This year we will be introducing School Ambassadors and enabling School Council and House Captains to take on a leading role in the school community.
The welfare of our families is of upmost importance. We continue to improve practice in Safeguarding and support. As a community we must look after each other. If anyone needs support then please speak to the teachers or directly to Mr Pearse, Mrs Allen or Mrs Clark who are our designated safeguarding leads. Information can be found and a secure email link in the Safeguarding section of this website.
I look forward to the prosperous year ahead and sharing in the successes of the children as they continue to aim high and maximise their potentials across all areas.
