I trust you and your families are well. It is lovely to have all the children back in school. At the moment we are trying hard to get the balance right between the love for learning, safety and preparation for normality. Thank you for following our safety guidelines and social distancing measures.
If your children are experiencing any difficulties please liaise with the teachers. We have had a few children experiencing separation anxiety and they are finding it difficult to come into school. We have tightened up our security as you would have noticed SLT memnbers standing at the exit points. We are also locking the gate into the carpark as we had a child run into this area which is very dangerous. If your child refuses to come into the school building please do not man handle them over the threshold. Call the teacher who will try de escalation strategies along with you.
The following information is for our families who may need information on Covid 19 tests:
COVID-19 tests for parents and other adults
All adults in households with school or college age children without symptoms can now access regular rapid coronavirus testing. This includes childcare and support bubbles. Households can collect test kits from their local test sites or order online if they cannot access them in any other way. Households can search for their nearest home test kit collection point on the gov.uk website. The two sites in Reading are in Prospect Park car park and The University of Reading Great Hall. Both are open daily, 1.30-7pm and no appointment is necessary
Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus can book a PCR test or order a home testing kit online or call 119. They should self-isolate, along with everyone who lives with them, and only leave home to post a test kit or for a PCR test appointment.
