12th June 2020
Dear Parents and Carers
The government has now stopped planning for the wider opening of schools to more pupils in June but they have indicated they intend to open all schools in September. We will keep you updated as the information is made available to us.
We are currently running classes for Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 6 and a group of Critical Worker’s children. The children who have returned have been happy to be back and have been enjoying lessons.
The small class sizes and social distance guidelines has resulted in more staff used to teach fewer children. We are now at capacity and are unable to open more classrooms due to a shortage of teaching staff. Children at home will continue to work on the distance learning set and should aim to complete their online/ home learning tasks. Teachers will continue to support children learning at home.
We are working on plans for class transition so that children may meet their new teacher for September 2020 and we will let you know the plans shortly.
INSET day will still take place on the 29th June and the school will be closed to all pupils.
Due to the large numbers of children not attending school, reports will be sent out electronically this year.
Have an enjoyable weekend and enjoy the sunshine on Saturday.
