February 1st - 7th was Children's Mental Health Week.
This year’s theme was
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity and doing activities that make you feel good.
We reminded all the children and staff that being able to express yourself is not about being the best at something or putting on a performance for others. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself.
We chose to have a "Dress to Express" day where everyone could choose to wear something that shows who they are, what they enjoy doing and what makes them feel good about themselves.
We saw children dressed in favourite colours and sports team kits. Some children wore outfits that promoted a cause they feel passionate about. Some children wore outfits that highlighted their interests, hobbies and activities they love to do.
Some of our staff joined in too! Everyone enjoyed sharing their "Dress to Express" outfit and promote positive mental health.
