I am writing to you to give you information about home learning, during the present school closure.
Class teachers have prepared home learning tasks for all children. These tasks include maths, English, reading and practical activities that can be completed at home, using resources in the home. Further, home learning tasks will be published on your child’s class page and emailed to parents.
Children have login details for three website, where online activities will be set:
In addition, the website Twinkl (https://www.twinkl.co.uk/) have provided a range of resources to support home learning – free of charge.
The expectation is that children complete at least 2 hours of home learning per day. Regular reading and routine practise of maths and writing will be vital, at this time. Furthermore, we would encourage families to engage in practical activities.
To support children’s learning, teachers will be available to respond to queries between 10am and midday via email, during the school week (excluding school holidays). Please contact the relevant class when requesting guidance:
This is a challenging and new situation for everyone therefore I will take this opportunity to remind everyone that all communications with teachers must remain polite and courteous. In addition, we would expect our home learning offer to children and parents may evolve over time as we understand what works best.
