Black History Month celebration

October was Black History month where we celebrate achievements from the black community who have made great contributions to the world and our lives. The infants enjoyed a sharing assembly where they talked about important black people they had learnt about and showed some of the work they had done on these amazing people.

In Reception, the children found out about the athlete Mo Farah and his great achievements in sport. The measured lengths of their legs to compare with each other and ran races to see if they could be fast like Mo. They even designed new running kits for Mo to wear too.

In Year 1, they wrote inspiration dreams, like Martin Luther King, about how they would make the world a better place and created African art work and masks.
