This term, our cooking is based around eggs. The children discussed where eggs came from, what the different parts are and their favourite way to cook eggs.
The children joined in cooking scrambled eggs and tried this alongside poached and fried to compare the difference in taste. We also looked at the difference between a 3 minute soft boiled egg and a 10 minute hard boiled egg. The children made egg sandwiches using hard-boiled eggs by mashing them and spreading the butter and filling on the bread.
We looked at how not all eggs look the same and noticed that some of the egg yolks were darker or more orange than others whereas other eggs had different coloured shells e.g. dark brown or blue.
