World Book Day

World Book Day - 1st March 2018

In Reception we love reading and books so much that just one day for World Book Day wasn't nearly enough! We started the celebrations a little early, and had an exciting visit to Waterstones in Reading on Monday 26th.  We caught the bus into Reading and headed to Waterstones to listen to a story and spend our World Book Day token.  There were so many lovely stories to choose from.  Some of us opted for 'Oi, Goat', others for a special edition 'Mr Men' book, Paddington Bear proved popular and there were also several takers for a super hero chapter book! We chose the book to listen to in store.  We chose 'Oi, Frog', a very silly rhyming book and also the new Julia Donaldson story, 'The Highway Rat'.  Holly, a member of staff, asked us to cheer for the story we wanted to listen to! It was so exciting.

By the time we needed to come back to school we were feeling tired but happy, and the return journey on the bus was much quieter :)

Thank you to the lovely staff at Waterstones for giving us such a special experience.
