On the 10th November we went to Reading Blue Coat School for a tournament. We won our pool, comfortably winning every game by quite a large margin. There were 4 teams in each pool.
We then played in the semi-finals against The Hill who were the winners of their pool. This was a very close match that ended in a draw so we played on for the Golden Try, which is always a really tough battle. They had the first line out so we were at a disadvantage but thanks to some fantastic defensive play managed to get turn over ball and score the winning try. It was very well deserved and hard fought for.
We then played The Coombes in the final (all their kids were a head and shoulders taller than our kids!) and they just seem to be our Achilles heel. We play them quite a lot and they are a very strong team who play excellent rugby. We fought hard but ended up losing 4-1 overall. This left us as the runners up for the cup competition. Out of 16 teams that’s not half bad! We were awarded medals, and then Mr Pearse's favourite part was obviously the copious amounts of food we were given afterwards!
