Keeping children safe online - Thursday 8th June 2.15

We are very fortunate to have Will Alderson from Microsoft coming to speak on Thursday 8th June at 2.15 about what we can do as parents and carers to ensure that our children are protected online. With the growth of technology available to young people in today’s world, there is an increasing need to have an awareness of what our children are watching and accessing over the internet and of our responsibility to be vigilant.

He will talk about-

What are your children doing online?

Dangers of the Internet:

Unwanted contact/grooming

Cyber bullying

Harmful content/illegal material

Self-generated content

Privacy/digital footprints and the problems of oversharing

Phishing attacks

What can your children do?

What can you do?

Where can you go for help?

The event will last for approximately an hour and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. A crèche will be offered for younger siblings of school or nursery age.

We would encourage all parents, who are able to, to attend this valuable presentation. Please would you sign up in advance on the sheet in the main office to enable us to accommodate all who wish to attend.

Thank you
