Diwali

We have been learning about the Diwali. This is the festival of lights. Neha in year 4 came to tell us how she celebrates Diwali. She brought some divas and incense for us to see and smell. She showed us her brother's and sister's clothes they wear at the family celebration.

Hindu and Sikh people celebrate this festival with clay lamps called divas and lots of fireworks! They are remembering the return of Rama and Sita after Rama rescued Sita from the 10 headed demon king, Ravannah.

We made Rangoli patterns from sand and mirror work Diwali cards. We learnt the story of Rama and Sita and acted it out with some Indian puppets.
